JOFRA® HPC550Ex AND HPC552Ex HANDHELD PRESSURE CALIBRATORS FEATURE DEADWEIGHT ACCURACY IN MODERN DIGITAL PACKAGE

Listen to this article

Versatile Handheld Devices Are Rated Intrinsically Safe for Hazardous Areas

The new HPC550/HPC552Ex family of handheld pressure calibrators from AMETEK Calibration Instruments offer deadweight accuracy and are rated intrinsically safe for potentially hazardous locations.

The HPC550/ HPC552Ex bring laboratory accuracy to an on-site, field-usable instrument and are well suited for a broad range of applications from simple tool type jobs to complex calibration applications in custody transfer systems. The HPC550/ 552Ex offers a full set of intelligent features, including user configurable information display, 15 different pressure units, transmitter supply, mA input, % error calculation, voltage measurement, serial communication, and external pressure module.

The HPC 550 /HPC 552Ex is the calibrator of choice for potentially explosive atmospheres, complying with ATEX / IECEx certifications. The versatile calibrator is designed specifically to meet the needs of operators and technicians who install, maintain, calibrate and troubleshoot equipment in petrochemical plants, on oil platforms, in refineries, for government facilities and commercial operations that are subject to potentially explosive atmospheres.

The HPC550Ex is a single-sensor calibrator, while the HPC552Ex is a dual-sensor calibrator, making it a suitable and cost-effective alternative to two separate calibrators. The accuracy of the each is specified in % of reading to ensure even greater accuracy and wide applicable pressure range. The HPC550/HPC552Ex is temperature compensated from 0 to 45oC (32 to 113oF) for on-site operation.
Each device has sixteen pressure ranges from 25mbar (0.35psi) to 700 bar (10,000 psi) with F.S. Absolute, differential and gauge sensors and is accurate to +/- 0.025% of reading, 0.01% F.S.  A whole selection of useful functions and features are available including damp, leak test, % error calculation, min/max, and switch test.

The rugged compact calibrator has a large backlit graphical display and a user friendly menu with icons that show current status and mode and one, two or three measurement windows to suit specific applications or needs.  A dedicated zero test button to provide convenient zero before test helps ensure accuracy.

The new 2nd generation JOFRA APM pressure modules extend the application base of the HPC calibrators by allowing calibrations in additional ranges.  The APM modules are compatible with several other JOFRA calibrators.  Instrument calibration can be performed locally without returning the unit to AMETEK.  Adjustment software is part of its design.  If factory calibration is required, the pump and calibrator are independent units, so only the calibrator needs to be returned.

The JOFRA HPC550/HPC552Ex family of handheld pressure calibrators is part of a comprehensive line of pressure, temperature, and signal calibration products marketed by AMETEK under the JOFRA® and MANSFIELD & GREEN® brand names.

AMETEK Test & Calibration Instruments is among the world’s leading manufacturers of calibration instruments, scales, material and force testing, and hardness testing  equipment  and a unit of AMETEK Measurement & Calibration Technologies, a division of AMETEK, Inc., a leading global manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices with annual sales of $2.5 billion.
