Klaxon’s Voltage Boosting Base Enhances Compatibility of its Fire Alarms
Klaxon Signals has introduced the Voltage Boosting Base as part of its Sonos range of fire alarms which allows the Sonos beacons and combined sounder-beacons to operate on a voltage supply as low as 9V, much less than the current minimum voltage level of 17V DC.
Increasing the operating voltage range to 9-60V DC means the Sonos range of alarms can be used in a much wider range of applications. Sonos alarms using the Voltage Boosting Base are now compatible with security systems that require a 12V supply as the base works to increase the incoming 12V supply to 24V at the sounder.
In addition, Klaxon’s Voltage Boosting Base significantly increases the sound output from a Sonos alarm; a 12V DC supply produces a 7dB increase in sound output which more than doubles the sound coverage.
The bases are available in red and white, and rated IP65 to protect against dust and water.
