NEW ABB FLOW AND ANALYTICAL PRODUCTS TO DEBUT AT IWEX 2008

Listen to this article

ABB limited will be underlining its leadership capabilities and expertise in water and waste water treatment applications with a selection of its latest instrumentation equipment and systems at this years IWEX (stand C23, 20th – 22nd May 2008).

The event will provide a platform for ABB to introduce its revolutionary FlowMaster range of flow meters, featuring an unequalled range of sensing technologies; and the exciting new Aztec range of analysers designed specifically for the challenges of the water treatment market.

Visitors to the stand will see a comprehensive selection of ABBS instrumentation products, including examples of some of its world-first products. One such product is the CalMaster2, the first in-situ verification system for battery and mains-powered electromagnetic flow meters. The CalMaster2 suite is comprised of two elements. The CalMaster IRIS (Intelligent Recognition Information System) is a standalone battery-powered test device that verifies an in-situ flow meter system. It allows the user to perform in-situ verification of both ABBS mains and battery-powered flow meter systems. CheckMaster is a field validation device that checks whether a MagMaster or AquaMaster metering system has been installed properly and is functioning correctly,

Alongside the CalMaster will be the recently launched AquaMaster GSM-SMS electromagnetic flow meter. Based on the same technology as a mobile phone, the AquaMaster can now be contacted using a PC or laptop, or through a mobile phone via SMS messaging. Providing immediate access to a host of flow data, the AquaMaster GSM-SMS eliminates the time, cost and potential errors traditionally associated with the manual collection of flow meter information.

This equipment will be accompanied by other examples of ABBS flow products range, including the Sensyflow thermal mass meter, the new WaterMaster meter and the established AquaProbe flow meter, which has been enhanced with several new features. These include a three year warranty period as standard, with an added two year purchase option if required.

IWEXwill also see the first public appearance of ABBS Aztec range of water analysers, including a pre-launch preview of the AW600 colour analyser and the AC2000 coagulation analyser. Created following the acquisition of Severn Trent Water Services Aztec business last year, the ABB Aztec range gives customers an even broader range of products for water analysis applications, backed up by comprehensive service and support.

Visitors will also be able to learn how they can optimise their instrument and process performance by using ABBS world-leading portfolio of PROFIBUS enabled devices, which provide remote access to a greater range of process data at the field level. These will include ABBS recently launched range of 364 series pressure transmitters, plus examples of its revamped temperature sensor and transmitter ranges.

Another world-first on the stand will be ABBS field-mountable SM500F recorder, the first ever videographic data recorder capable of being installed virtually anywhere. A choice of mounting options means the SM500F can be easily installed onto a panel, wall or pipe without the additional expense associated with the enclosures normally required to field mount a traditional videographic recorder. Its fully sealed IP66 and NEMA 4X enclosure also provides full protection against water and dust ingress.

IWEX gives us an ideal opportunity to demonstrate the full extent of what we can offer for water and waste water treatment applications, says Tony Hoyle, UK Flow Product Manager, ABB Limited. We will be using the show to explain how our new products are opening up a wealth of exciting possibilities to help operators and major end users optimise their water management.
