Alfa Laval has introduced a new range of tank access covers that meets the requirements of the 3-A Sanitary Standard for cleanability. The new range includes two 3-A tank access cover models, which have been approved by the 3A Symbol Council to be marked with the authorized 3-A Symbol; denoting Alfa Laval’s commitment to achieving the highest standards of hygienic design. Process equipment displaying the coveted 3-A Symbol, demonstrably meets excellent material, design and fabrication standards for cleanability and inspection.
An example of a new Alfa Laval 3-A access tank cover is the Oval Cover Type LKD. Manufactured in 316L stainless steel, it is available in two sizes 440 x 320 mm and 535 x 435 with FDA-approved seals in EPDM, NBR, FPM or Silicone.
Like all tank covers in the 3-A range, the Oval Cover Type LKD features an electro-polished surface finish of less than 0,4 Ra on the product contact parts and 0,8 Ra on non-product contact surfaces.
With its optimal hygienic design the 3-A cover is the choice for more demanding applications in the dairy, food and beverage, biopharm and personal care industries.
The 3-A Symbol range includes non-pressure models for fitting above the liquid level; pressure models for above or below the liquid level; and, static pressure models for below the liquid level.
The access covers are authorized to carry the 3-A symbol, according to 3-AÂ standard 63-03 and 84-02. Alfa Laval already offers the widest range of tank access covers available today. Their aim is to become the leading supplier of tank equipment.
