Emerson Receives Keys To New Solutions Centre In Aberdeen
Emerson has been presented with the keys to its new Solutions Centre in Aberdeen by Miller Developments. Before the end of the year, Emerson sales, engineering and service teams will move into this custom built facility, which will provide a platform for delivering an enhanced portfolio of solutions and services to customers in Scotland and the North Sea. The facility is expected to be fully operational in December 2015.
A 2600 square metre office facility has been constructed alongside a 3065 square metre regional service centre, providing capacity for up to 200 engineers and support personnel. The new complex will provide the space and infrastructure to demonstrate the full scope of Emerson’s process management capabilities, including engineering services, operational support, and measurement and control solutions.
The Emerson Solution Centre will combine classroom-based theory with hands-on practical training, providing an extensive portfolio of courses tailored for the needs of North Sea operators.
“This new facility will provide a comprehensive educational offering to ensure our customers will continue to have a fully trained and skilled workforce, while reducing time and expenses,” said Stuart Brown, General Manager of Emerson Process Management UK and Ireland. “Consolidating three existing facilities in the Dyce area into a single leading-edge building close to the Aberdeen airport demonstrates Emerson’s commitment to support our Scotland and North Sea customers.”
The investment will also ensure that Emerson employees are equipped with the technology, training and collaboration tools required to solve customers’ toughest problems and supports customers’ drive for continuous productivity improvement.
The Emerson Solutions Centre is located within the D2 Business Park in Dyce, Aberdeen, a major business hub developed by Miller Developments, one of the UK’s largest property development companies.
“We are delighted to have worked alongside Emerson and to now hand over the keys to their new Solutions Centre,” said Francis Barkey, Project Management Director of Miller Developments. “D2 has established itself as a prime location for business in Aberdeen and we are pleased Emerson is part of it.”
Primary construction was carried out by contractors Bowmer & Kirkland, who were also represented at the handover ceremony on 20th July.
