New Features for IPX2 Current-to-Pressure Transmitter Improve Operations and Maintenance
Moore Industries has updated our IPX2 Current-to-Pressure (I/P) Transmitter with new features that make it easier to operate and maintain. New features of the 2-wire (loop-powered) transmitter such as a removable electronics module and switch-selectable reverse output make it a perfect solution for customers with remote natural gas well head applications where compressed air lines are unavailable and natural gas has to be used as the supply medium.
The removable electronics module saves time and maintenance costs when electronics need to be re-calibrated or replaced after accidental flooding caused by liquid “slugs” from the natural gas supply line. After taking off the cover, disconnecting the wiring and removing four mounting screws, the electronics module can be quickly replaced with a new unit. Combined with the clog-resistant filtered nozzle and orifice that protects against clogging, the IPX2 is easy to maintain and less prone to malfunctions.
The IPX2 can also be switched from a direct to reverse output by simply toggling a switch mounted on top of the electronics module. This allows the unit to go from 3-15psi to 15-3psi and back. Along with the switch-selectable reverse output, the IPX2 has a wide variety of input and output choices including a direct 4-20mA input, split range inputs and 22 direct and reverse output ranges.
Other outstanding features of the IPX2 include:
- Exceptional ±0.25% of span accuracy and six-month stability, making it ideal for precise applications in difficult to access locations.
- A high output volume of up to 5SCFM with low air consumption of 0.08SCFM.
- Immunity to supply pressure variation that provides outstanding accuracy even when the supply pressure fluctuates between 20psig and 40psig. Similar products have a supply pressure effect of up to 0.2 percent.
- Special circuit and enclosure designs that protect against the harmful effects of radio frequency interference (RFI) and electromagnetic interference (EMI).
