New Pipeline Dryers and Gas Purifiers from Brownell

Listen to this article

Brownell has introduced a series of pipeline dryers and purifiers which, by selecting from a range of adsorbants, will remove moisture, odours, hydrocarbons and selected gases from air, gases and industrial processes.

A chemical adsorbent, molecular sieves, is used to selectively separate molecules with a size different of 0.1 angstrom. Molecular sieves are available in four ranges of 3A, 4A, 5A, and 10A (angstrom). Adsorbants are easily replaced when saturated.

Brownell dryers and purifiers range in size from 5 to 5000 grams with flowrate capabilities of 100-25000 cc/minute, and at pressures up to 10 bar.

Optional extras include filtration to 0.2 micron for preventing solid contamination entering the process system. Also a humidity or dewpoint alarm can be used to automatically indicate when the adsorbant is saturated.

Applications suitable for pipeline dryers and purifiers include; laboratory analysers, electronic instruments, optical equipment, workstations and semiconductor fabrication facilities.

Typical gases and liquid which can be dried are natural gas, ethanol and compressed air.
