Noise Control Specialist Appoints New General Manager

Listen to this article

Hendrik-Jan Brandenberg has been appointed as the new General Manager of Merford Noise Control. He succeeds Oliver Wallien who handed over the reins to him on 1 November 2016. Merford Noise Control is a leading international provider of industrial noise management solutions.

Brandenberg started his career in the process control technology segment of the building automation sector. For over 20 years he occupied various positions, including project manager, account manager and team leader. For the last five years he was General Manager and shareholder at Coneco, which manufactures process control engineering systems for new development and renovation projects under contract to technical installation companies.

While working at Coneco he earned his Master”s in Management & Innovation, specialising in Change Management. Upon leaving his role at Coneco, Brandenberg decided to start his own company, Directio. With this company he specialised in Interim & Change Management, thus putting his studies into practice. Brandenberg provided consulting services to SME companies in the area of strategy, organisation and commerce focussing on technology and the human dimension within organisations.

However, his solo enterprise also made him feel like he was missing something. “As an independent consultant you are a guest temporarily in a company. At least that is how it felt at times. I began to miss working on the structural development of an organisation. Working together as a team, setting long-term goals together, working towards these goals as a team, and especially sharing jointly achieved successes. I saw that the role of General Manager at Merford Noise Control embraces all of these aspects. For me it was a perfect opportunity to make the transition to an excellent company.”

At Merford Noise Control, Brandenberg will assume responsibility for the growth strategy. “I am very much looking forward to further expanding Merford, working closely with its highly skilled team. Personally, growth makes me happy. It not only creates new opportunities for collaboration and team building for colleagues, it also creates commercial opportunities. A stable, growing company is a healthy company. I consider it important to build on everyone”s strengths and talents and will create room for this.”

Olivier Wallien applauds the arrival of Brandenberg as his successor. “Over the past three years I have worked with a great deal of satisfaction on improving the positioning of the Merford Noise Control brand as one of Merford”s five business units on the market, nationally as well as internationally. I did this together with a professional and passionate team. All with the same objective in mind: offering our customers the best possible solutions, often with just that little bit extra. No challenge was too big for us. It is with pleasure that I now hand over the reins to Hendrik-Jan. I have every confidence that with all of his knowledge and expertise he will continue to expand Merford Noise Control.”
