NOV MONO’S PUMPING AND GRINDING SOLUTIONS ON SHOW AT BIO-GAS EXHIBITION

Listen to this article

Proven and practical pumping and grinding solutions were the theme when NOV® Mono® unveiled its stand at the 2012 UK AD and Biogas Show. This year’s show focused on ways in which anaerobic digestion can deliver major benefits to Local Authorities, and to the food and farming industries. Mono is a successful supplier to all these sectors, and exhibited products which are ideal for use in anaerobic digestion and biogas systems.

Mono is recognised internationally as a leading provider of progressing cavity pumps, parts, grinders, screens and packaged systems. The company has extensive experience of serving customers in numerous sectors, including food and beverage, water and waste, paper and pulp, agriculture, plus oil and gas. Combined with its customer-focussed approach this makes it ideally positioned to meet the particular needs of the anaerobic digestion and biogas market. Mono equipment can help smooth the pre-treatment process by significantly reducing the bulk and particle size of biodegradable waste, and can also improve the overall efficiency of processing operations by protecting the other equipment involved.

The EZstrip™ transfer pump advantages

Displayed on the stand was an example from Mono’s recently extended range of EZstripTM progressing cavity transfer pumps. These offer outstanding performance in the transfer of highly viscous, fatty or greasy materials.

The revolutionary EZstripTM design allows the pumps to be quickly and easily dissembled, unblocked and maintained in-situ. This transforms the traditional day-long operation into a simple 30-minute task and dramatically reduces both ongoing maintenance and whole-life costs. Based on the principles behind Mono”s popular Compact C Range products, the EZstripTM pumps can handle capacities up to 225m3/h and are also suitable for retrofitting into existing installations

EZstrip™ TR Muncher®

Already well-proven in food production processes and mainstream waste and sewage applications, Mono’s range of Muncher® and grinder products are finding increasing acceptance in bio-waste applications,

The Mono stand also featured an example of this product range – the Mono EZstrip™ CT201 Muncher®. This twin shaft, low speed, high torque grinder is specifically designed for efficient maceration of biodegradable solids and can help satisfy legislatory requirements while significantly improving efficiency levels by protecting pumps used in the digestion process. The waste enters a series of cutters which allow liquid to pass through, but which revolve at differential speeds to pull apart, crop and shear any solids that are present. These are macerated to a consistent particle size of either 3.5 or 8mm, which reduces the likelihood of blockages occurring. Along with the use of low-wear components and energy-efficient motors, the EZstrip™ design also permits maintain-in-place operations and this can significantly reduce maintenance cost. Different cutters and cutter configurations are also available to accommodate specific types of waste.
