NSK launches Added Value Programme AIP for 2014

Listen to this article

By working closely with its customers in a wide range of industries has enabled NSK to develop an excellent understanding of the environments and applications in which bearings and linear products are used. This expertise is being translated into the Added Value Programme AIP, which aims to improve efficiency, reduce breakdowns and thereby improve profitability and competitiveness during 2014 and beyond.

Identifying problems, their root cause and a range of potential solutions can be achieved as part of a structured, company-wide initiative using NSK’s Added Value Programme (AIP). AIP is designed to deliver real benefits in operating costs, efficiency and profitability across all industry sectors. These benefits are achieved by delivering tangible savings to assets, such as equipment and machinery, and also by improving the working knowledge of maintenance and engineering personnel.

The Added Value Programme is a standardized approach that has been adopted throughout the NSK organization. With a simplified process, it makes it logical for customers to buy into and understand the process; and it shows them how NSK can add value to their businesses.

As part of its AIP programme, NSKs Engineering team – alongside the customers own employees – conduct comprehensive reviews on all aspects of a company’s operations, including systems, stock, specific problem applications, lubrication, and even training issues are audited. An analysis of the data acquired is then performed and this leads to recommendations for improvements.

In practice, these recommendations could relate to a specific product solution or even training: covering issues such as how to examine or look after bearings; how to spot failure modes; and how to handle bearings correctly – as this is one of the most common causes of premature bearing failure.

NSK has helped 100’s of customers avoid major process pitfall’s, achieve higher rates of productivity and save thousands of euros every year! To indicate how important these cost savings can be, NSK has launched a Cost Savings Calculator App that allows users to compare their existing bearings set up with an improved NSK solution.

Many examples of the effective implementation of NSK’s AIP approach can be seen in the various Success Stories available on NSK’s website; or even by using NSK’s Solutions App, where the user is taken through a journey of real life Success Stories. The App’s are available through NSK’s website or directly from all major App stores.
