Presenting our Tab-Ex® 03, the 3rd generation of our 8-inch Android tablet series
Continuing with our success of our 8-inch Tab-Ex® series, we would like to introduce our intrinsically safe Tab-Ex® 03 tablet in the DZ2 (for Zone 2/22 & Division 2) and D2 (for Division 2) variants. In a slim and lightweight design, the tablet, based on the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 3, offers state-of-the-art technology for harsh environments, Android 11 with update guarantee as well as more RAM and external storage than previous models. The new Enterprise Edition of Samsung Knox ensures high data and device security.
The handy Tab-Ex® 03 DZ2 and D2 can be easily operated with gloves or the S Pen stylus, which writes like a real pen with high pressure sensitivity. The large screen, with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels, enables items such as construction drawings to be viewed in detail and at a greater size than on a smartphone display. A 13-megapixel camera is installed for taking photos and videos, with the front camera having a resolution of 5 megapixels. Users can connect the tablet to the desktop via Samsung's DeX function when they want to go from the plant to the office or even to the home office.
The integrated Google ARCore makes the tablet fit for augmented reality applications in Industry 4.0, a typical example being plant management or predictive maintenance. For maximum employee safety, there is an individual programmable button, which enables, among other things, a quick and effective alarm, emergency calls or push-to-talk (PTT).
Thanks to solutions from ECOM's Digital Products & Services division, the tablet is not only easy to set up and manage, but can also be updated at any time – even over the air. By analyzing historical data, safety-critical processes become visible.
