Promag – the industry all-rounder

Listen to this article

As the largest magmeter manufacturer in the world, Endress+Hauser produces over 130,000 electromagnetic flowmeters every year. With this experience, the company has developed the most complete product portfolio on the market, including a magmeter suitable for every industry, application and budget.

Having been proven in use around the world for over 50 years, Promag sensors and transmitters are used to measure all electrically conductive liquids (>1µS/cm) with our without solids, including water, wastewater, sludge, slurries, pastes, acids, alkalis, juices and fruit pulp. Working on a principle that offers measurement independent of pressure, density, temperature and viscosity, the range offers high reproducibility, accuracy and stability.

Promag’s robust sensors have a wide range of materials, measuring-tube liners and process connections (EN [DIN], ANSI, JIS, AWWA, AS) and a typical accuracy of ±0.2 to 0.5% o.r. Transmitters are based on a unified operating concept with flexible outputs, software packages, fieldbus interface, Ex approvals and optional 2-wire technology for lower power consumption and reduced installation costs.

Low cost without compromise
When budget is important, the Promag range includes two low-cost sensors with HART and PROFIBUS compatibility, offering all the benefits of the range without compromising on quality or performance.

With its innovative wafer process connection design, Promag D is the versatile solution ideal for water and utilities applications. Lightweight and compact, it is perfect for installation in plastic or metal pipes and for applications with limited space conditions such as water filter skids.

For the water and wastewater sectors, Promag L includes two rotating lap-joint flanges, making it easily and quickly fitted onto the pipeline without mismatch of boltholes and poor alignment. Additionally, the flange design reduces its weight by up to 30% making it a lightweight and cost-effective choice.
