Rittal’s Therm Software Makes Short Work of Specifying Climate Control Equipment
Upgrading or replacing existing electrical equipment enclosures can be an expensive business given that new enclosures can easily cost several thousand pounds.
Much of the protection that the enclosure provides is around correct climate control. Focusing on this area prior to an enclosure’s installation will pay huge dividends by reducing:
- Energy consumption
- Risks of unexpected breakdowns
- Replacement parts’ budgets
Rittal’s Therm is free software that simplifies and streamlines decisions as to which climate control system to choose, giving users a rapid assessment of the best available options.

“The density of equipment in enclosures is increasing and this can create understandable concerns around the climate controls that will be needed to protect sensitive electrical equipment,” said Karl Lycett, Rittal’s Product Manager for Climate Control.
“It doesn’t matter how large or small the project you’re working on, from a single enclosure to a long suite with masses of variable speed drives; in every case Therm will give you peace of mind that you are correctly specifying the right cooling equipment. This in turn will ensure your new or existing installation has a long operating life.”
Therm is available via a web browser, or downloaded to a computer for offline use, or accessed on a mobile device through the Rittal Therm App.
The software’s final calculation can be exported in Word or PDF for accurate personal record-keeping or provided to customers as part of the due diligence process within a specification.
