CKF Systems Ltd has recruited three new electrical engineers as it continues to expand its electrical division to levels only usually associated with the UK’s major manufacturers. The business, which currently employs 50 engineers at its Gloucester site, has experienced strong growth within the food and automotive sectors during the last 12 months and further development of its electrical capability opens up an assortment of new opportunities.

“In the field of robotics, the software-related technological advances come thick and fast and we pride ourselves in our ability to stay at the forefront of technological change,” explains Graham Lee, Electrical Sales Manager, CKF Systems Ltd. “Traditionally we have utilised specialist contractors to support our team at times of high level demand”. “It was time to bite the bullet; it’s a huge commitment in terms of increased overheads but now we have the capacity in house to meet high level demand. In addition, with every new bespoke system that we design and build, CKF continues to strengthen and extend its knowledge base in house, which is disseminated across our whole engineering team for the benefit of every CKF customer.”

“Increasing the strength of our in-house electrical resource means that we can respond with even greater speed and proactivity to most challenges. It also allows us to apply our electrical know-how in areas such as panel building, problem solving and design, equipment upgrades and installations.”

Recruitment of the best available electrical talent has added new skill sets to CKF’s already diverse range, along with expertise in industries beyond its core sectors such as Aggregates and Automotive. It has also enabled CKF to develop closer ties with global system providers such as Rockwell, Siemens, Sick and IFM.

“Having the knowledge means that we are a reliable and respected source of feedback,” continues Graham. “CKF is able to test and challenge the performance of drives and software solutions which ultimately leads to longer term improvements and new product development. That in turn allows us to develop a more intimate understanding of what is available in the marketplace and further increases the dimensions of our working knowledge; both to meet customers’ current requirements and provide the best expandable solution for their future needs. Global markets have never been more competitive and our customers rely upon our professional expertise to support their long term aspirations.”
