Rockwell Automation appoints new lead in Oil and Gas, Water, Process, Automotive & Energy

As part of Rockwell Automation’s continued growth plans the company has appointed Martin Walder to lead the Industry focused teams in; Oil & Gas, Water, Process, Automotive & Energy. Walder, who previously worked for Rockwell from 1989-2001in Sales & Business Management roles, rejoins after seven years as Managing Director of ABB Robotics and a period of time in Private Equity.

Having also previously worked for Honeywell, Walder brings with him a considerable knowledge and experience in these specialist sectors and in business management in general. He has also been active on the CBI’s Manufacturing Council and is the current Chairman of the Engineering and Manufacturing Alliance (EAMA) – an umbrella trade association representing around 1700 companies in the mechanical engineering sector.

Walder comments, ‘I am excited about the opportunity at Rockwell Automation; the integrated approach to automation solutions from field devices and motor control, through machine and distributed process control to full manufacturing execution systems – is unrivalled in the market. I relish the challenge of working closely with our team and our customers to help them to achieve even greater plant optimisation, performance improvements and long term sustainability.
