The Future Of SmartPlant Fusion 2016 Previewed at Offshore Europe 2015
Enhanced solution includes Intergraph SmartTM Enterprise Portal, enabling fast, integrated access to all facility data
During the first day of Offshore Europe 2015, Intergraph® Process, Power & Marine (PP&M) Manager of Business Development Sascha Antvogel, presented a preview of the upcoming SmartPlant® Fusion 2016, which incorporates user-requested enhancements and several innovative capabilities.
During the press briefing Antvogel introduced some of the new capabilities of the latest software release: a new end-user web portal (Intergraph SmartTM Enterprise Portal) to improve accessibility and visualisation of facility information, an enhanced database reader to import data from various sources and registers and improved quality control for tag management.
“Both engineering, procurement and construction (EPCs) companies and plant operators struggle with a continuous flow of unstructured information arriving from multiple sources, including brownfield data capture, handover documents, and engineering partners. Ensuring information reliability and data accessibility is essential to both safety and efficiency of operations,” said Antvogel.
SmartPlant Fusion 2016’s new features will facilitate these challenges encountered by EPCs and plant operators. The new end user web portal enables both remote and local users to quickly locate, review and utilise any piece of engineering data in the system.
Also, by offering a multidisciplinary access to data, the software improves project integrity by allowing importing, comparison and consolidation of information from various different data sources and registers.
In addition, SmartPlant Fusion 2016 rapidly captures, organises, and links documents, extracting intelligence from documentation, while identifying master documents and eliminating duplicates and outdated versions.
“The capability of importing information from multiple sources is a true power feature, as it allows tag attributes to be imported from various origins, automatically compares them for inconsistencies, and consolidates all data to one, single location.
This both improves information integrity and operational safety, while providing significant time savings by improved data accuracy,” said Antvogel.

It integrates many leading information organisation and visualisation technologies, enabling intuitive navigation with an accurate representation of the way things are really connected, thereby transforming unstructured and unintelligent information into an intuitive solution for all plant personnel.
