SomatXR Data Acquisition System Now Even More Powerful

Listen to this article

HBM – a market leader in the field of test and measurement – is pleased to announce it has developed three new modules, designed to make the SomatXR data acquisition system even more powerful and flexible.

Specifically developed for use in harsh environments, the latest additions to the HBM range includes the MX840B-R and SomatXR MX411B-R amplifiers and the SomatXR MX471B-R CAN module.

The MX840B-R is a universal amplifier, which offers eight channels for connecting over 16 different transducer technologies, making it the perfect solution for various measurement tasks that require the use of many different transducers.

With four channels and a data rate of up to 100 kS/s per channel, SomatXR MX411B-R is ideally suited for highly dynamic measurement tasks, such as vibration measurements and impact tests, which requires precise measurement.

Also available to add to the measurement chain is the SomatXR MX471B-R CAN bus module, a robust module which can be used to record mechanical quantities and also digital vehicle data.

Featuring four individually configurable interfaces which receive CAN data, the module also supports reading of CCP or xCP-on-CAN messages and offers the option of using CAN messages as triggers for measurement recordings.  In addition, the module also provides gateway functionality and can send sensor signals acquired with other SomatXR modules as CAN messages.

Like other modules available from the SomatXR range, the new additions offer flexible, modular and expandable properties and can be used in combination with other data acquisition systems such as QuantumX.

Rugged and flexible in use, the powerful SomatXR data acquisition system from HBM provides a web interface for simple operation without any software installation, which allows for convenient channel parameterisation, monitoring of measurement jobs and visualisation of measured data far away from the measurement point.
