St Andrews has many proud boasts it was founded in 1413, it is Scotland’s first university and the third oldest in the English-speaking world.

This university that has many proud boasts as well as a hugely impressive alumnus that includes philosophers, astronomers, poets, politicians and musicians. Two of their most famous recent graduates are the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge who retain close links with the university.

Over the years St. Andrews has had many awards and accolades conferred upon it. This cache was recently added to when their newly opened Biomedical Sciences Research Complex (BSRC) Annex was announced as the first laboratory in the UK and the only building in Scotland to be awarded an ‘outstanding’ BREEAM rating.

Contributing towards the overall efficiency are a full range of energy efficient Grundfos pumps, including single stage centrifugal and in-line pumps, a Grundfos Hydro MPC booster set and pressurisation units.

Grundfos worked in partnership with RSP Consulting in Edinburgh and SPIE Matthew Hall the M&E contractors. The final outcome has delighted everyone associated with the project and proves that even the most respected seats of learning continue to evolve – even after 600 years.
