The Wolfson Centre for Bulk Solids Handling Technology, based at the University of Greenwich in Medway, specialises in helping industry solve its powder and particulate handling problems through consultancy and training.
Our next course, in March, concentrates on the problems encountered (with suggested possible solutions) when storing and discharging powders and particulate materials.
Topics covered during the 2-day presentation include:
• Introduction to basic flow patterns and equipment types;
• Discharge aids and interfacing to feeders;
• Segregation issues;
• Predicting discharge rates;
• Determining the flow properties of bulk materials;
• Dealing with potential problems
The practical session on Day 3 allows delegates the opportunity to use equipment not available in their workplace, or to learn new techniques.
