The Daleks finally meet their match
To the delight of Doctor Who fans everywhere, the BBC has announced that the 50 year anniversary episode called Day of the Doctor will star Matt Smith and David Tennant, as well as Billie Piper and Jenna Coleman. This amazing line-up will definitely be needed to defeat all the foes which the episode brings back: Daleks, Cybermen and Zygons.
With such a dangerous array of foes, the Doctor will need all the help he can get. He requires exceptional mental strength and endurance, but also the ability to adapt to very different challenges. These very qualities bring to mind the new generations of pumps that Verder has recently launched. Here we ask how the Doctor could use Verder’s pumps to defeat his adversaries.
Cybermen vs. Verderair Pure
The Cybermen are a race of emotionless, cybernetically enhanced humanoids, whose original weakness was gold. Of course, this made them a little bit too easy to defeat, and a simple glitter gun was able to destroy entire legions of Cybermen in the Cyber Wars. In later series the weakness was downplayed, almost to the point of removing it. For example, using a Verder hose pump , which has applications in gold mines, to attack a Cyberman wouldn’t actually do a lot of damage to the modern day version of the race.
However, in the classic TV show the Cybermen still have other weaknesses: solvents, gravity based technology and excessive levels of radiation. Solvents, you say? Apparently they can be used to melt the plastic components in a Cyberman’s chest unit.
Poor design in our opinion. Unlike the Cybermen, the Verderair Pure pump is constructed to be non-reactive solvents . This robust series of double diaphragm pumps, produced from one-piece, pure PE or PTFE plastic, can pump harsh liquids and can withstand severe process conditions. The product’s ability to pump abrasive, corrosive and viscous fluids makes it the perfect weapon against those solvent-hating Cybermen. Normally used in the electronics, solar panels and pharmaceutical industries, the Verderair Pure pump works brilliantly in hazardous environments. It would have no trouble handling the solvents and explosive fluids that are so lethal to Cybermen.
Zygons vs. Verdermag Global
The metamorphic humanoids from planet Zygon can only survive by feeding on the lactic fluid of an armoured cyborg creature: the Skarasen. With their organic ships and gurgling whispers, the Zygons would be no match for the Verdermag Global high pressure mag drive pump. The pump uses magnetic polarity to generate flow. It is suitable for circulating fluids in a high pressure system at up to 200 bar such as in fast-loop systems and nanofiltration membranes .
Because the Zygons and their technology are biological in nature, they would easily be destroyed by a high pressure, high temperature jet of fluids, which the Verdermag Global pump handles without any hiccups. Moreover, thanks to a completely sealed design, no leaks will ever occur, so the Doctor won’t have to bother with mechanical seals, maintenance or cleaning up. These features also come in handy in petrochemical refineries, desalination plants, nuclear power stations, the steel industry and general fluid transfer.
Daleks vs. Verderflex Dura
The Doctor’s oldest, most frequent foes are back. The Dalekanium armour protects these hateful, unfeeling, salt-and-pepper-shaker cyborgs from most attacks. Portrayed as invincible in the first series, they could only be defeated by the innovative application of stairs. However, this made things a little bit too simple, so the second series introduced flying Daleks.
It’s exactly their lack of emotions that represents the Daleks’ biggest weakness. Relying too heavily on logic has caused the Daleks to lose their powers of intuition and inspiration. And this, combined with their physical weak points, the eye stalk and the manipulator arm, would render them useless against the Verderflex Dura.
This innovative peristaltic pump performs remarkably well with abrasive slurries (such as lime chemical in wastewater treatment ), dry running liquid feeds, shear sensitive polymers and highly viscous sludge. Picture this: an army of heinous Daleks is preparing to subjugate mankind. All the Doctor needs is a series of Verdeflex Dura pumps to help project thick slurry at the eye stalks and manipulator arms of the Daleks, thus rendering them useless. Exterminate? I don’t think so.
In case you were wondering what allows the robust Verdeflex Dura to perform so well with difficult products in tough conditions, let me tell you more about about the principles behind them.
“What is innovative about this pump?” I hear you ask. Well, the new Dura 45 features an exceptional quality bearing system, a new quick-removal flange design, outstanding hoses, robust rotor shoe design and the ability to out-pump all other pumps in its class for the same number of revolutions. Could it be the secret power of the Tardist?!
So there you have it, the Doctor comes out victorious and the world is saved thanks to three new-generation Verder pumps. We didn’t even need to call on the talents of Tennant, Piper and Coleman. And of course, as well as fighting aliens, these extremely reliable and innovative technologies have a variety of engineering applications in a range of industries and sectors.
