Control valve specialists SAMSON CONTROLS is continuing its tradition of constant product development, combining innovation and technology as demonstrated by their Type 3291 valve and Type 3730-6 positioner. Although already well established, these products have been enhanced to provide additional features and added value.
The Type 3291 Valve combines the proven V-port plug and clamped-in seat and is particularly suited for use under severe operating conditions, such as in the oil, gas and petrochem industries. The smooth interior surfaces of the valve make it hard for deposits to form so the potential for the valves clogging is minimised.

The valve is easy-to-service as it can be disassembled and assembled using standard tools and Samson’s proven modular valve design makes it very versatile in use. For example, accessories such as flow dividers, perforated plugs, insulating sections, bellows seals, positioners, limit switches and solenoid valves can be easily mounted.
The type 3730-6 positioner with HART® communication is a further development of the successful Series 3730 positioners. The standard version is supplied with the proven EXPERTplus valve diagnostics that allow the entire operating cycle of control valves used in throttling or on/off service to be monitored.
Another feature is partial stroke testing (PST) that provides information on whether shut-off valves function properly on demand and can be started by hand or automatically. Diagnostic data can be read much faster thanks to the improved HART communication and emergency shutdown is guaranteed in accordance with IEC 61508 up to SIL 3 which eliminates the need for an additional solenoid valve.
