Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Group Crowned Most Innovative Pharma Fluid Management Solutions Provider 2021
Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Group is delighted to announce it has been named Most Innovative Pharma Fluid Management Solutions Provider 2021 at the Global Health and Pharma (GHP) Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Awards.
The pharmaceutical industry relies on precise fluid management solutions that ensure sterility and protect the integrity of high-value products throughout the development and manufacturing process.
This has never been more evident than during the pandemic, where the efficiency of every stage of pharmaceutical production has been paramount. Watson-Marlow has over 60 years’ experience in engineering fluid path solutions and uses that extensive expertise to design innovative new products to solve its clients’ needs.
Watson-Marlow specialises in peristaltic pumping technology, as well as single-use Accusil silicone tubing and asepticsuTM tube assemblies. Manufacturing and packaging is carried out in an ISO 14644-1 Class 7 Cleanroom and validated in compliance with ANSI/AAMI/ISO 11137 VDmax 25 methodology.
This technology is an ideal solution for the pharmaceutical industry as it provides precise flow rates with low shear and reduces contamination risk as the fluid is contained within the tube, never coming into contact with the pump mechanism. The company is constantly developing new products to best meet the evolving requirements of the pharmaceutical industry. One such example is the PF7+ benchtop filling machine, launched this year to provide a no-waste solution for critical aseptic filling.
Andrew Mines, Managing Director of Watson-Marlow, said: “Our teams went above and beyond to continue supporting all our clients during such a challenging period and I am pleased that this award recognises their commitment to innovation in such a key industry. We look forward to continuing to support the development of life changing medicines through our extensive expertise in fluid management.”
The GHP Healthcare & Pharmaceutical Awards honour the innovation, determination and outstanding levels of care demonstrated by those who place wellbeing at the forefront of their practice. Winners are chosen based on various criteria including business performance, longevity, business growth and significant innovations.

About us
Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Group (WMFTG) peristaltic tube and hose pumps meet requirements including: value for money; low cost of ownership; reliability and ease of maintenance to the food and beverage, chemical, pharmaceutical, mining and many other industries.
We demonstrate how pumps deliver significant process efficiencies over the lifetime of the equipment. Whether performing flavouring addition in food processing, chemical metering in water treatment or mineral recovery, we have a solution which can cut pump downtime and reduce costs through higher accuracy metering and transfer. WMFTG has dedicated application engineers available to help customers make the right pump and tubing choice from a range providing microlitres per minute to 80 cubic metres per hour flow rates.
The only part of the pump to come into contact with the product is the tube or hose. This means there are no seals or valves that can wear or fail. Replacing the tube or hose can be performed quickly and safely. Peristaltic pump benefits include:
Total fluid containment with no seals No ancillaries Handle viscous and abrasive slurries and sludge Self-priming capability Dry running without damage to the pump In addition to their range of positive displacement pumps, Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Group has added PTFE-lined chemical and industrial hoses to their range. Aflex hoses are reinforced to withstand the most severe conditions and use.
