Babcock Wanson Group Introduces Sustainable Solutions Brochure
The Babcock Wanson Group, which Babcock Wanson UK is a founder member and a specialist in industrial process heating equipment and solutions, has introduced a new brochure showcasing its wide range of sustainable solutions.
One of the world's premier boiler house and related systems suppliers, with operations in more than 13 countries, Babcock Wanson Group is at the forefront of the energy transition. The Group is increasingly supplying carbon-free heat production solutions to industry, helping customers minimise fossil fuel use and meet environmental goals.
The sustainable energy solutions of the Group's brands rest on four pillars, each one of which is explained in the new brochure: decarbonisation, energy performance, reduction of polluting emissions and recovery & re-use.
To support decarbonisation, Babcock Wanson Group is advocating alternatives to fossil fuels for making steam and hot water. These include a growing number of electric boilers launched in recent years; hybrid arrangements that alternate between the most efficient existing energy supply in real time; and combustion technologies based on renewable fuels such as hydrogen, biogas and oxycombustion. All are discussed in depth in the brochure.
Energy efficiency from existing boiler plant is being optimised by precise matching of burner and vessel, changing water treatment with local water quality and remote monitoring of the heating system. Together, these steps minimise use of fossil fuel and release of NOx and CO₂.
This is in direct support of the Group's overall mission to reduce polluting emissions. The company goes on to offer equipment whose primary purpose is removing and destroying airborne industrial pollutants. Its thermal oxidation technologies – regenerative, recuperative and deodorising – effectively treat VOCs and industrial odour, as outlined in the brochure.
The fourth pillar, recovery and re-use, promotes sustainable management of natural resources. Solutions to recover and re-integrate some of the discharged water are provided by the Group in order to reduce overall consumption. Solvent recovery and waste heat recovery are also covered, with the brochure describing a number of recovery approaches and possible cost savings.
“We are delighted to be leading European clean industrial steam and heat solutions delivery,” says Cyril Fournier‐Montgieux, Babcock Wanson Group Chairman. “This demanding challenge is an enormous inspiration for all the teams within our Group, enabling us to contribute significantly to creating a better world.“.
“Leveraging their heritage and complementary added values in diverse backgrounds and markets, our brands enable the Group to offer unique expertise to its markets and customers throughout the complete value chain. Structured as such, we can serve our customers along the decarbonisation path.”
