Aquatech and IWA launch Water Research Forum to accelerate real-world water innovation
Aquatech and the International Water Association (IWA) are teaming up to kick off an exciting new Water Research Forum, aimed at bridging the gap between scientific research and real-world solutions to enhance global water resilience.
Mark your calendars for 11 March 2027 at RAI Amsterdam, where this forum will be a key highlight of Aquatech International Water Week 2027. The goal is to speed up the adoption of cutting-edge water technologies by fostering collaboration among researchers, utilities, policymakers, and industry leaders.
With a focus on Scaling Integrated Solutions for Water Resilience, the event will delve into crucial topics like climate adaptation, PFAS mitigation, circular water systems, and the latest in digital water technologies.
IWA will spearhead the scientific program, gathering top international experts and researchers, while Aquatech will manage the event logistics and industry involvement.
Dr. Kala Vairavamoorthy, Executive Director of IWA, pointed out, “An innovation that takes decades to reach practice is an innovation delivered too late,” underscoring the need to connect scientific knowledge with organizations ready to implement new solutions.

Daan Burghouts, Director of Aquatech Global Events, stressed that forging stronger links between scientific research, technology development, and practical application is vital for tackling the water challenges of the future.
The Water Research Forum will complement the Aquatech Innovation Forum and Integrated Leaders Forum, creating valuable opportunities for knowledge sharing and collaboration throughout the global water sector.
Plus, delegates attending the forum will enjoy complimentary access to Aquatech Amsterdam 2027.
