UWT appoints Alina Niekrawietz as Head of Business Operations and International

UWT Group has appointed Alina Niekrawietz to its senior leadership team as Head of Business Operations & International, with responsibility for key business functions at its German headquarters and subsidiaries in Spain, Brazil and Mexico.

Niekrawietz took up the role on 1 October 2026 at the company’s headquarters in Betzigau, Germany. UWT develops and manufactures sensors for continuous level measurement and point level detection in bulk solids and liquids across a range of industries.

Her responsibilities include marketing, HR, controlling, finance and accounting, as well as overseeing the group’s international subsidiaries. She will also contribute to UWT’s strategic development as the company begins a gradual generational transition within its leadership team.

Experience in international sales and business operations

Niekrawietz has a longstanding connection with UWT, having worked at the company alongside her studies. During this time, she gained experience in project management, strategy, recruitment, international sales and order processing.

She subsequently developed her international sales experience at a global company, working across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) and Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) regions.

In her new position, she will work with the relevant teams to develop the functions under her remit, strengthen UWT’s international operations and help shape the group’s future direction.

Supporting UWT’s next generation of leadership

Niekrawietz joins the existing team of department heads, who work alongside UWT’s managing directors to guide the company’s development.

The group continues to be led by Markus Schalk, commercial managing director, Andreas Haug, technical managing director, and Uwe Niekrawietz, managing partner.

Uwe Niekrawietz has played a central role in developing UWT into an international group of companies since the late 1990s. The appointment of his daughter Alina to the senior leadership team forms part of a gradual transition towards greater involvement of the next generation in the company’s management.

Working together, the managing directors and department heads aim to build on UWT’s established international presence while developing its long-term strategy and supporting sustainable business growth.
