Tyco Flow Control Opens State-of-the-Art Service Facility in Port Arthur

Oil and gas companies working in and around the Gulf of Mexico now have easier access to valve maintenance and repair, thanks to the opening of a new service facility by Tyco Valves & Controls, a unit of Tyco Flow Control. Tyco opened the 12,500 square foot, state-of-the-art center today in Port Arthur, Texas, to maintain and repair customers’ valves, actuation and controls so that they can continue safe, efficient operations with minimal downtime.

An experienced team at the facility will service pressure relief valves, quarter turn valves, control valves and actuators. In addition to Tyco products, the center will also repair other manufacturers’ products, using original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts.

“Ensuring our customers can operate safely and securely with as little downtime as possible is our number-one priority,” said Peter Ray, head of global service, Tyco’s flow control oil and gas business. “We chose this strategic location so we could offer our Gulf Coast customers easier access to our services and trained technicians. Whether performing routine maintenance or helping solve a persistent problem, our team can quickly and efficiently offer the high level of service that customers have come to expect from Tyco.”

To assist customers in tracking the maintenance history of each valve in their plants, Tyco also offers its eDgeÔ asset management system at this location.  This proprietary system simplifies the task of tracking valves and controls.  It provides real-time, online tracking, not only of a product’s maintenance history, but also of actions taken to prevent future problems. This helps plant owners plan maintenance outages, stay on task with routine maintenance checks, and have additional insight when a product requires repairs.

The Port Arthur center will employ 15 people with specialized skills to perform both critical and routine maintenance.  It is one of nearly 70 centers located around the globe to ensure customers have access to essential maintenance and repairs, no matter where they are.

The center is located at 945 South Business Park Drive in Port Arthur. Tyco Thermal Controls also operates a material management facility in Port Arthur.
