COOPER SOFTWARE SELECTED FOR FACTORY AUTOMATION BY BUTCHER’S PET CARE

Leading dog and cat food supplier, Butcher’s Pet Care, has selected Cooper Software to implement its ACQUIRE™ Bar-coding Solution at the new £38m factory site at Crick, Northamptonshire.
The innovative software is an end-to-end mobile data capture and RF system that delivers shop floor and warehousing efficiency, through the automation of manual processing tasks. With the Shop Order Receipt and Inventory Move ACQUIRE™ transactions, Butcher’s will improve workforce efficiency by eliminating keying errors and manual bulk printing, as well as a live-link to up-to-date, accurate stock data.

Jeff Martins, Financial Controller at Butcher’s Pet Care, said, “We chose Cooper Software for their deep knowledge of the barcoding market and IFS. Our agreement with them to install ACQUIRE™ at our Crick site is extremely exciting for our business, as previously we have relied on manual, paper-based processes. With this new software we expect to see a significant improvement in both factory and warehouse efficiency, as well greater traceability and enhanced accuracy in our operations.”

ACQUIRE™ is an established application in its 3rd generation and was developed as a means to streamline data entry into ERP software via mobile handhelds. ACQUIRE™ takes an innovative approach, using a suite of configurable off-the-shelf transactions. This enables businesses to match their business processes to the systems they have implemented, including goods in receipt, inspection, picking, count reports and many more. Having been adapted to work with any version of IFS – including the most recent version, IFS Apps 8, released in late 2012 – it is now one of the fastest-growing warehouse applications on the market.
