Take a Virtual Tour Through the VEGA Headquarters in Schiltach
VEGA are in their 50th anniversary year of providing innovative level solutions and are now offering you a virtual tour of the VEGA head office in Schiltach, where this continuous innovation takes place. Located in the Black Forest region of Germany, the headquarters are in a beautiful setting.
These are the buildings where solutions are being devised for a whole range of challenging level measurement, level switching, interface measurement, density and pressure applications. These solutions benefit many industries like food and beverage, chemical and petrochemical, pharmaceutical, water and waste, paper, steel and metal manufacturing, offshore, energy, mining, cement and aggregates.
You can view where this development of advanced solutions takes place and read about how our 300 basic models are adapted into 45,000 custom designed instruments a year, to meet required customer specifications and demanding applications.
Now with this virtual tour, you can also follow the path of what happens when VEGA receives your order in the sales department through to the shipping department. View the manufacturing areas of the actual instrument you ordered whether it uses radar, ultrasonic, guided microwave, capacitive, pressure or vibration technology.
You can also take a peek at other areas like marketing, personnel, quality assurance and the repair department as part of this company tour.
Another area that the tour highlights is the company restaurant, after all ‘whoever does good work must also eat well’. This luxury restaurant is ideal for employees, customers, visitors and business partners alike.
I saved, what in my opinion is, the best bit until last….
The VEGA headquarters are situated next to an idyllic river in a beautiful part of the Black Forest. It might be this getting back to nature, that inspired VEGA to want to preserve and look after the environment, which is the very reason that they built a hydroelectric power station.
This power station provides the company with up to 70% of the annual power requirements. Not only that, but this hydrostatic power station and weir has VEGA instruments in situ, to measure water level, flow rate and speed. There is also a switch in operation to ensure that if too much debris has accumulated, a rake cleaning system is activated. This is also a favourite spot for customers to visit, as they can see VEGA level and pressure instruments in action.
