Hima-Sella and Mitsubishi Electric work together to provide integrated solutions in the rail sector
Systems integration specialist Hima-Sella and Mitsubishi Electric, the multinational automation solutions supplier, have entered into an agreement to promote a number of each other’s products and services and pursue joint opportunities in the rail sector.
During the last six years the companies have worked together on a number of prestigious rail projects and their respective capabilities are now recognised by several operators. Both companies are well entrenched with other suppliers within the rail sector.
Hima-Sella will promote the use of Mitsubishi’s Q series Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and other automation products, for use in power distribution applications (with an RTU supporting both DNP3 and IEC 61850) and other control/data management rail infrastructure applications.
As part of the collaboration, Hima-Sella will be putting a significant number of its engineers through Mitsubishi Electric’s training courses in 2014, in order to achieve Mitsubishi Certified Engineer status. Similarly, Mitsubishi Electric will be promoting Hima-Sella’s integrated Communications Management System (iCMS) and Telemetry applications, as an integrated solution with the Mitsubishi hardware.
Richard Shaw, Hima-Sella’s Rail Systems Account Manager, comments: “It’s a pleasure to be working with Mitsubishi Electric in this way. The relationship has the potential of producing something greater than the sum of the parts and will be of great benefit to existing and potential customers in the rail sector.”
David Bean, Rail Industry Sales Manager with Mitsubishi Electric, adds: “This represents a true collaborative approach between Mitsubishi and Hima-Sella, with both companies aligning with the common goal of bringing both innovation and value to solutions in the rail infrastructure sector in line with the industry’s strategic vision for greater collaboration in its supply chain.”
