Introduction of a combination bulk bag discharger with access platform by Flexicon Europe creates the ideal mechanism where controlled overhead release of material is required for load pick-up direct into drums, boxes, bags or bins.

Depending on plant requirements, variations on platform design enable the Flexicon Combo Unit to facilitate direct access beneath the bag discharge spout allowing containers to be collected by fork truck, alternatively the combo unit can become part of an integrated handling system where containers are fed beneath the spout by shuttle conveyor.

The access platform is essential to allow an operator to easily and safely reach the point where a bulk bag must be securely attached to the discharge spout for effective release of material whist preventing overflow or spillage, maximising full discharge and avoiding site contamination.

The Bulk Bag Discharger is available in frame variations allowing full bags to be positioned within the discharger by integral or overhead powered hoist – trolley or fork truck. When the bag is positioned directly above the outlet spout the operator can gain entry via an interlocked slide gate to clamp the clean side of the bag outlet to the clean side of the telescopic tube ready for release of the bulk load.

Since all fabrication work is carried out in house by Flexicon Europe configuration of the platform structure and stairway layout are matched to site requirements. The platform can be built in carbon steel for general industrial application or stainless steel for use within the food, drinks and pharmaceutical sectors and come complete with hand-rails and platform guards to comply with safety requirements. The standard decking for carbon steel construction is an anti-slip galvanised grating, with aluminium diamond plate for all stainless steel platforms.
