Araldite® Enhances High Temperature Tooling, Rapid Prototyping and Rapid Manufacturing Applications
At Rapid Tech 2011, Huntsman Advanced Materials will showcase Araldite® Digitalis®, the company’s innovative rapid manufacturing machine. The company will also display some of the toughest stereolithography (SL) resins available today, as well as the precursors to a new range of advanced polymer system resins.
The new polymer system resins and Araldite® Digitalis® are accelerating the adoption of additive fabrication systems into rapid manufacturing. The new resins are IP protected advanced polymer system resins, developed to enable faster production of a diverse range of parts. MLS MicroLightSwitch®, a radical exposure system within Araldite® Digitalis®, selectively exposes the resins in a single step, allowing large number of parts to be produced at speed and with a high degree of accuracy. Araldite® Digitalis® is a breakthrough technology, based on micro-electro mechanical systems (MEMS) technology.
Huntsman will also display RenShape® SL 7870 and RenShape® SL 7811, the latest additions to its versatile range of RenShape® SL 7800 resins. These resins are designed for use on solid state laser and SLA systems.
RenShape® SL 7870 is a water-clear SL resin which produces ultra-durable models and prototype parts. Ideal for producing long-lasting parts featuring a high-quality, smooth surface finish, it also provides precise replication of intricate detail. Sharing similar qualities, RenShape® SL 7811 is white in colour and is well suited to RTV rubber molding.
