Ian Clarke is sales & marketing director for inControl Systems, a Derbyshire based control systems integrator with many years of industrial digitalisation deployment experience behind them. With a career spanning four decades from being a instrumentation engineer at Perkins Engines, Ian moved into sales and marketing management from test instrumentation, industrial computing in the 80s and 90s, to process control and more recently working with start-up and scale-up business involved in Industry 4.0 and IoT. Additionally Ian runs his own consulting business Velocumen – advising technology scale-ups on business development and is the Vice President (out-going Past President) of Gambica – The UK Industrial Association for Automation, Process Control, Test & Measurement and Laboratory Equipment.
