Nigel Platt is ABB’s Lead Business Manager for its UK & Ireland robotics and discrete automation business. Nigel has over 30 years’ experience helping manufacturing companies around the world improve competitiveness, quality and consistency, through investment in Robot based manufacturing systems. He joined ABB in 1990, beginning his career as Account Manager for the South East Region. Prior to becoming Lead Business Manager in 2017, Nigel held a global role across 40 countries as Business Line Manager for welding and cutting. Nigel holds a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Mechanical & Production Engineering from De Havilland College in Hertfordshire. He is trained in advanced team selling, contract law and negotiation skills and is Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) accredited.
