Rosemount™ 350A delivers reliable pH and ORP measurement with plug-and-play connectivity and advanced diagnostics for demanding industrial applications

Emerson has introduced the Rosemount™ 350A High Performance pH/ORP Sensor, a next-generation digital liquid analysis sensor designed to improve measurement reliability in demanding industrial environments while simplifying installation, commissioning and ongoing maintenance.

Developed for challenging process applications involving high temperatures, high pressures and retractable installations, the Rosemount 350A combines digital communications, onboard diagnostics and plug-and-play connectivity to help operators achieve faster start-up, improved process control and greater confidence in critical pH and oxidation reduction potential (ORP) measurements.

As manufacturers continue to focus on improving operational efficiency, reducing downtime and increasing process reliability, digital instrumentation is becoming an increasingly important part of modern process automation strategies.

The Rosemount 350A has been developed to support these objectives while helping maintenance teams reduce installation complexity and standardise equipment across industrial facilities.

Reliable pH and ORP Measurement for Harsh Industrial Environments

Many industrial processes depend on accurate pH and ORP measurement to maintain product quality, improve process efficiency and protect valuable plant equipment.

Industries including chemical processing, water and wastewater treatment, power generation, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage manufacturing and refining frequently operate under harsh process conditions where conventional analogue sensors can struggle to provide stable and reliable measurements.

Applications involving elevated temperatures, high process pressures and retractable sensor installations often expose traditional analogue sensors to electrical interference, signal degradation and more complex wiring requirements. These challenges can increase commissioning time and reduce measurement confidence.

The Rosemount 350A digital pH/ORP sensor has been specifically engineered to overcome these issues by converting and transmitting measurement data digitally, significantly reducing susceptibility to electrical noise while helping operators achieve stable measurements more quickly.

Plug-and-Play Installation Simplifies Commissioning

One of the key advantages of the Rosemount 350A is its digital architecture, which has been designed to make installation faster and more straightforward.

Featuring a digital Modbus interface alongside M12 quick-connect cabling, the sensor supports true plug-and-play commissioning. This approach reduces installation time while helping eliminate many of the wiring mistakes commonly associated with traditional analogue sensors that require manual termination.

Simplified installation not only reduces engineering effort during commissioning but can also shorten planned maintenance shutdowns when sensors require replacement.

The digital platform also enables interoperability across Rosemount digital liquid analysis sensors, allowing plants to simplify spare parts management while supporting greater standardisation across multiple process areas and manufacturing sites.

Onboard Diagnostics Improve Maintenance Efficiency

The Rosemount 350A has been designed not only to provide accurate measurements but also to deliver valuable diagnostic information that supports more proactive maintenance strategies.

Calibration data together with diagnostic information is stored directly within the sensor itself. This capability supports bench calibration workflows, allowing maintenance teams to prepare sensors before installation while reducing time spent working in the field.

By storing calibration records, sensor health indicators and event history, the Rosemount 350A provides engineers with greater insight into sensor condition throughout its operational life.

The additional diagnostic information can help maintenance personnel identify developing issues earlier, support faster root cause analysis and improve planning for preventative maintenance activities.

Ultimately, this enables facilities to minimise unplanned downtime while improving the reliability of liquid analysis measurement across critical process applications.

Designed to Perform in High-Temperature and High-Pressure Applications

Industrial processes operating under extreme conditions place considerable demands on instrumentation, particularly where aggressive chemicals, elevated temperatures or high operating pressures are involved.

The Rosemount 350A has been developed specifically for these environments.

The sensor supports retractable mounting styles, making installation and maintenance easier in applications where process interruption must be minimised.

It is also available with titanium body options together with selectable reference electrolytes, allowing users to configure the sensor to suit a wide variety of challenging process chemistries.

These options help improve measurement performance and extend sensor reliability in applications where elevated temperatures, high pressures, process coating or sensor poisoning can significantly reduce the service life of conventional pH sensors.

Supporting Reliable Digital Liquid Analysis

Digital liquid analysis continues to play an increasingly important role within modern industrial automation by providing higher quality process data and enhanced diagnostic capabilities.

By combining digital communications with integrated calibration storage and advanced diagnostics, the Rosemount 350A helps operators gain greater confidence in critical pH and ORP measurements while reducing the complexity associated with commissioning and maintenance.

Its compatibility with the wider Rosemount digital liquid analysis portfolio also enables facilities to adopt a more consistent approach to instrumentation, helping simplify maintenance procedures and reduce inventory requirements.

Emerson Statement

The Rosemount 350A High Performance pH/ORP Sensor is designed to help customers simplify commissioning and improve measurement confidence in tough process conditions,” said Rachel Jang, global product manager, liquid analysis, with Emerson’s measurement instrumentation business.By combining plug-and-play connectivity with onboard diagnostics and calibration storage, we’re helping teams reduce complexity and spend more time acting on trusted measurements.”

Improving Process Reliability Through Digital Measurement Technology

As industrial facilities continue to modernise their instrumentation infrastructure, demand is increasing for digital sensors capable of delivering accurate measurements, simplified maintenance and greater operational visibility.

The Emerson Rosemount 350A High Performance pH/ORP Sensor addresses these requirements by combining digital Modbus communications, plug-and-play connectivity, onboard diagnostics and rugged construction into a single solution suitable for some of the most demanding industrial environments.

Designed for harsh process conditions involving high temperatures, high pressures and challenging chemical applications, the Rosemount 350A helps improve measurement reliability, simplify commissioning and support more efficient maintenance practices, enabling operators to make faster decisions based on trusted process data.
