Emerson Names Paul Smith as General Manager, United Kingdom and Ireland
Emerson Process Management announces that Paul Smith is appointed as General Manager, United Kingdom and Ireland. Smith will be based at the company’s UK offices in Stockport and takes over from Mark Dutton who, after three years at the helm, is appointed as Vice President & General Manager of Emerson’s Daniel Measurement and Control division in Europe.
“Many companies in the process industry are experiencing a reduction in demand and as a result are focussing on operations improvements,” said Smith. “I am excited to be joining Emerson at this time as I believe its class leading technologies, including Smart Wireless products and PlantWeb® digital architecture, are best placed to help customers introduce automation improvements that give immediate cost benefits, and can be scaled up later as budgets allow.”
Before joining Emerson, Smith was a European Business Manager for Rockwell Automation MPS Group with responsibilities that included leading the Solutions Management team to develop and implement the Business Strategy for major European markets outside of Life Sciences. Prior to joining Rockwell, he was Country Business Leader for Honeywell Process Solutions, UK & Ireland.
Smith gained an MBA from the Open University in the UK and has many years experience in the European control and automation industry.
