High Temperature Corrosion Controlling Paper wins award
Metso has received the Best Paper Award in the electrical instrumentation and control category at the recent POWER-GEN Europe 2013 exhibition held on June 4-6, 2013, in Vienna, Austria.
Metso”s winning paper, High Temperature Corrosion Controlling by Online Fuel and Process Atmosphere Management Solution, highlights the new Metso Corrosion Management solution, which enables power plants to extend their superheaters” lifetime, maximize fuel flexibility, optimize fuel economy and lower their environmental impact. It is a solution that offers rapid payback on the initial investment.
The paper describes Metso”s whole package – the Metso Corrosion Management solution – for corrosion monitoring and control that has been developed in close cooperation with customers and Metso”s various business segments. It presents a concrete case example with results, where recycled and biomass fuels are co-fired. Online measurement and corrosion rate calculation, based on wide material know-how, together with information and control applications, ensure higher plant efficiency in parallel with wide fuel flexibility.
The paper was written by Jaani Silvennoinen, Product Manager, Power Generation Performance Solutions; Maria Nurmoranta, Development Manager, Automation, Metso; and Lasse Kauppinen, Product Manager, Analyzers, Control & Measurement Systems, Automation, Metso. The presentation at the conference was given by Juha-Pekka Jalkanen, Director, Plant Performance Solutions, Automation, Metso.
The winners are recognized by the industry as being the “best of the best”
