Internationally accredited PROFIBUS training in Manchester
In October, three PROFIBUS training courses will be held at the Endress+Hauser Visitor Centre in Manchester in partnership with Andy Verwer of Verwer Training & Consultancy Ltd.
The courses cover installation, maintenance and commissioning and in-depth engineering. Using a balance of theory and practical, hands-on training, each course will equip maintenance personnel with the skills and knowledge to use PROFIBUS effectively on-site. “These courses provide installers and engineers with the technical skills to install and manage their fieldbus network and achieve an internationally recognised certification,” explains Andy Verwer. “This is an excellent opportunity to make sure that your engineers are fully qualified and competent in PROFIBUS technology.”
The courses on offer are as follows:
Certified PROFIBUS Installer course (one day) – 3 October 2011
Designed to teach installers the layout, installation and testing of complete PROFIBUS networks, this course covers the essential requirements for a successful and maintainable PROFIBUS network. Examples and case study materials are used throughout to highlight the common, but potentially very costly, pitfalls and installation errors that are often made.
PROFIBUS Commissioning & Maintenance course (one day) – 4 October 2011
This add-on course to the Certified PROFIBUS Installer course provides an intermediate level of training and covers the practical techniques of maintenance and fault-finding on ‘operational’ PROFIBUS networks. Techniques include the use of ProfiTrace Ultra to diagnose network faults and I/O problems. Students also learn how to use the built-in digital storage oscilloscope to diagnose and locate a wide range of cable, connection and device faults.
Certified PROFIBUS Engineer course (3.5 days incorporating Commissioning & Maintenance course) – 4 to 7 October 2011
This course is for engineers who already have a thorough basic technical knowledge of PROFIBUS or other fieldbus systems. Covering the theory of PROFIBUS DP and PA network operation, students are taught how to properly design, install, commission and trouble-shoot PROFIBUS networks. During the course students are demonstrated the effects of failed devices, wiring and layout faults, configuration errors and other common problems. By the end of the course, students are able to break down and analyse all the class-1 and class-2 telegrams in a network, understand network timing parameters, understand how GSD files are structured and how to use these files to best advantage. Please note that attendees must be qualified to Certified Installer standard in order to attend this course.
