LOWARA UK CELEBRATES ONE YEAR OF XYLEM INC

Lowara UK is celebrating its one year anniversary as part of Xylem, the world’s largest water technology company, which spun off from ITT Corporation at the end of 2011.

Specialising in pumping solutions for residential and commercial markets, Lowara has delivered a strong performance during its first year with positive operating results which have exceeded its growth strategy.

“Our first year as part of Xylem has been filled with achievements,” says Duncan Lewis, General Manager of Lowara UK. “We have continued to grow our share of the domestic building services sector and brought to market the very latest in residential and commercial pumping technology which is compliant with 2015 regulations.”

In addition to launching the Xylem Lowara Ecocirc ahead of the initial ErP ruling in January 2013, the company has also played a fundamental role in the pumping industry’s fight to have circulators included in the Government’s Green Deal programme. Working as part of a dedicated group for the British Pump Manufacturers Association (BPMA), Lowara and other leading voices from the industry are advising the BRE on the benefits of including these pumps in the Green Deal when it is launched early next year.

Concluding a successful year, Lowara has joined forces with another arm of the Xylem business – Xylem Flow Control; these business units will be called Xylem Applied Water Systems (AWS). Brands under the AWS group now include Lowara, Flowjet, Bell & Gossett, Rule, Goulds Water Technology, Jabsco, Vogel Pumpen, Alcon, Wedeco, Midland ACS and Red Jacket.

Bringing together the strengths of the two businesses, Xylem AWS will focus strongly on the building services, general industrial, food and beverage, marine and agricultural markets. This positive change combines the power of two broad portfolios of world class products, backed up by strong application expertise which is unmatched in the industry.

Duncan concludes: “I am confident that our business strategy, global talent and innovative ideas will continue to lead us to an even stronger future in our second year and beyond. Since becoming Xylem, we have been able to work with our sister companies in over 150 counties worldwide to address global water issues throughout the water cycle whilst also focusing on local initiatives which our staff feels passionately about.

“Moving into 2013, joining with Flow Control to form the Applied Water Systems sector of Xylem will bring about new ideas and an even stronger industry insight which we will leverage to the greater good of our customers.”
