NEW RANGE OF BOSS CONVECTOR FANS CUTS ENERGY CONSUMPTION IN HALF

BSS Industrial, the leading distributor of heating and pipeline solutions, has launched a new range of fan convectors, the BOSS Copperad®ECO, complete with Electronically Commutated (EC) motors which can significantly improve energy savings in industrial applications.

In order to comply with Part L of Building Regulations, fan coil units must demonstrate a specific fan power (SFP) figure – the ratio of the power drawn by the motor in watts to the airflow generated in l/s – of less than 0.6. The BOSS Copperad®ECO range has a maximum SFP of just 0.36, whilst maintaining the same thermal outputs and air volumes as the existing AC range.
EC technology allows for the use of safe low voltages for remote thermostats and switches in industrial applications. In addition to improving energy efficiency, EC motors allow the direct control of the fan speed via a 0-10V BSM signal.
Vikki Horn, Product Group Manager at BSS Industrial, commented: “We have always been committed to offering products which offer a significant return on investment; BOSS Copperad®ECO fan convectors are no different.
“The BOSS Copperad®ECO range offers an average energy saving of 61% – something which is crucial for improving the overall efficiency of industrial applications and will undoubtedly result in tangible bottom line financial gains for the end user.”
The BOSS Copperad®ECO range is available in five different styles – floor mounted, concealed, horizontal, hideaway and ceiling vectors – and each with multiple size options to cater for a variety of applications. EC motorplates are interchangeable with existing units, offering end-users a refurbishment option for requirements where energy saving motors are required.
