Newburgh awarded contract in engine components
Newburgh Engineering has secured a contract win with one of the world’s best known engine manufacturers, Perkins Engines Company Limited.
Newburgh’s Rotherham site won a contract to produce engine components after successfully completing Perkins’ stringent supplier tendering process.
Newburgh’s founding site, based in Bradwell, Derbyshire, has previously worked on smaller contracts for Perkins, but this contract win is a considerable boost for the Rotherham site’s dedicated team.
Commercial Manager Matthew Jewitt said: “We are overjoyed to have been awarded this prestigious contract with such a well-known, long-established company.”
As a supplier of high precision components to the rail industry for many decades, Newburgh Engineering has the expertise and manufacturing capability to produce high quality engine components.
Managing Director Vincent Middleton also said: “This is a fantastic achievement for the Rotherham team, who have worked tirelessly to secure a contract which will see us build a working partnership with Perkins as we move forward into 2012.”
