The ASDA-A2
To meet the requirements of the most demanding motion control applications in industry and to satisfy the needs of high-precision positioning control requested by machine designers, Softstart UK has introduced the ASDA-A2 series of servo motors and servo drives. Manufactured by Delta Electronics, for which Softstart UK is the sole UK distributor, the ASDA-A2 series closely matches the drive to the motor for ultimate control, and includes features such as in-built motion control functionality, eliminating the need for an external controller in many cases.
Features of the ASDA-A2 include a built-in electronic cam function ideal for flying shear, rotary cutoff and synchronised motion applications. In addition, the ASDA-A2 features Delta’s latest position control Pr mode, delivering a variety of control modes and greatly enhancing system performance. Full closed loop control, auto notch filter, vibration suppression and gantry control functions all help in the execution of complex motions that require high precision and smooth operation.
ASDA-A2 servo motors are equipped with superior 20-bit resolution encoders as standard to ensure accurate positioning and more stable rotation at low speed. In addition, outstanding capture and compare functions within the drive for high speed pulses offer the best support for stepless positioning.
Built-in automatic low frequency vibration suppression meets the needs of applications such as crane control. Two vibration suppression filters are provided to minimise the vibration at machine edges automatically and effectively. In addition, automatic high-frequency resonance suppression is provided by two auto notch filters, enabling mechanical resonance to be suppressed automatically.
The electronic cam provides up to 720 E-CAM points, and smooth interpolation between points can be completed automatically. The ASDA-A2-Soft configuration software provides a simple electronic cam profile editing function. The flexible internal position mode provides 64 internal position settings for continuous motion control, and 35 different homing modes are available.
Further features, such as 1kHz frequency response, innovative editing software and a high-speed, oscilloscope-like PC monitoring function all help to maximise system performance.
Available in powers from 0.2kW to 3kW, the ASDA-A2 servo series meets the needs of demanding applications such as carving machines, lathes, milling machines, TFT LCD cutting machines, robot arms, IC packaging machines, high speed packaging machines, CNC processing equipment, food packaging machines and printing equipment.
