USON Announces Expansion of China Operations and Appointment of New Manager for China Operations

Listen to this article

USON, the pioneer of dry air leak testing used widely in automotive, medical device and other industrial applications, announces the appointment of Bob Tong as Director of USON’s China operations and expansion of USON’s sales and technical support offices in four China locations (Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chongqing, and Changchun).

Global and China-based manufacturers of products where quality depends on meeting leak rate specifications often rely on USON leak detection equipment and USON’s expert leak testing applications engineering teams to help meet Gage R&R with the fastest leak test cycle times at the lowest cost.   USON’s appointment of Mr. Tong and expansion of USON China operations reflects the desire to meet market needs of rapidly growing Chinese industries, especially in the automotive and medical device fields.

Dave Foran, President of USON, says that he is proud to welcome Mr. Tong back to USON, where he had previously held the position of sales engineer for four years.  Mr. Foran says, “Bob’s breadth of knowledge of leak test applications engineering combined with his devotion to customer service is exactly the type of leadership USON needs and welcomes in the important China market.  As a sales engineer for USON previously Bob delivered a 500% increase in sales revenue.  He has exactly the right skills to build a robust technical support operation and sales team for China.  His dedication and natural abilities as a leader and team builder are very much appreciated, as well as his ability to draw similarly hard-working and talented staff as he expands the USON China team.”

Mr. Tong holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Automatic Control Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology.  His diverse work experiences include positions with global Fortune 100 companies, electronics leaders in Japan and work for both automotive and medical device companies in China.
