Wanner has opened a new sales and service centre of excellence in Mumbai and Pune, supported by satellite engineering hubs in New Delhi, Bangalore and Gujarat, strengthening its local support for process industries across India.

The new operation brings together the experience of Wanner’s long-standing Indian partner Machinomatic Engineers, which has supported Wanner pumps in the country for 30 years. The partnership has delivered measurable operational and economic benefits for process engineering customers, including savings of 21,000 tonnes of polymer and more than $250,000 in maintenance costs for a major oil and gas operator in India. Machinomatic Engineers has also received an award for improved reliability at Cairn Oil & Gas.

Wanner India will provide sales, pump skid design and build, installation, maintenance, spare parts and field service for Wanner pumps and engineered systems. The new operation will support customers across India’s oil and gas, chemical and pharmaceutical sectors, alongside applications in other process engineering industries.

Local engineering and service support

The centre of excellence is intended to strengthen Wanner’s technical support in India by providing local application engineering and faster field response. Services will include preventative maintenance programmes, pump and spare parts inventory and on-site field support, helping customers address equipment issues and reduce downtime and operating costs.

The new structure also brings together Wanner’s pumping technology with the established local engineering expertise of Machinomatic Engineers. This is intended to provide customers with a more comprehensive service covering pump selection, system design, installation and ongoing maintenance.

Karan Mansukhani, Managing Director of Wanner India, said: “We have supported India’s oil and gas, chemical, machine tool, water treatment and general industry and pharmaceutical sectors for three decades and this new, dedicated centre and satellite engineering hubs will deepen our local engineering capability and accelerate response times so customers in all process engineering industries can operate reliably and cost effectively, also meeting the minimum local content criteria for all National Oil Co. procurement.”

Supporting pumping reliability and lifecycle costs

For process industry operators, local access to engineering expertise, spare parts and maintenance support can be particularly important where pumping equipment is critical to production. Wanner’s new Indian operation is designed to provide support throughout the equipment lifecycle, from application engineering and pump skid design through to installation, preventative maintenance and field service.

The company’s previous work in India has included applications where improvements in pumping performance have reduced both material consumption and maintenance expenditure. These results provide a practical foundation for the expanded service operation as Wanner targets further opportunities across the country’s process industries.

The new centre will also support Wanner’s ability to meet local content requirements associated with procurement by National Oil Companies, an increasingly important consideration for suppliers working on major projects in India.

Paul Davis, Managing Director of Wanner International said: “Our exports to India have grown consistently due to the value we create for our customers, helping them lower their total cost of ownership in their pumping processes. Establishing a dedicated centre of excellence in India demonstrates our commitment to the market and strengthens our ability to serve oil and gas, chemicals and pharmaceutical projects locally.”

The combination of the Mumbai and Pune centre with satellite engineering hubs across key industrial locations gives Wanner a broader local presence while retaining access to its wider engineering and pumping expertise. The company will continue to focus on applications where reliable pumping, maintenance support and total cost of ownership are key considerations.
