AXION LAUNCHES NEW PROCESS EQUIPMENT SERVICE

Listen to this article

Axion Consulting has launched a new process equipment sales and design service for the primary processing of plastic waste materials in response to growing demand and need for specialist advice and expertise from UK and Ireland-based recyclers.

The service offers process solutions to a wide range of difficult waste challenges in the plastics sector, enabling recyclers to reduce disposal cost and increase yield and quality of their recovered materials for re-use in new products.

Axion Consulting, www.axionconsulting.co.uk a division of Manchester-based Axion Recycling, has been appointed as sales agent for several leading equipment suppliers from across Europe following rising numbers of inquiries from resource recovery firms.

“More and more companies were coming to us for help and advice in testing and specifying recycling resource recovery processes for niche waste streams, so we have now launched this dedicated service based on our own wide experience of testing and selecting equipment for use in our own Salford recycling plant and for other clients,” explained Axion’s Sales Director, Keith Freegard.

“Generally we find the types of clients that we usually work with in our sector don’t have a lot of process engineering and design capability in-house, so it’s not enough just to sell the piece of kit as a lot of agents do. It’s much more helpful to the client if you can also provide a process system integration service so that you can specify a bespoke solution tailored to their exact needs,” he continued.

Headed by John Cryan, a senior engineer in specialty chemicals, Axion’s machinery sales team can advise on and supply equipment including dry cleaning technology, size reduction, storage and handling equipment, and various wet washing and conveying systems. After analysing and assessing the scope of an application, Axion’s experts can offer a process solution based on the most appropriate equipment.

Additionally, the service includes assistance with budget stage project evaluation to compare the capital expenditure with the financial benefits of the proposed process solution. Bespoke client packages can include overall plant design and project management.

Keith added: “For regular large volumes of dirty plastic waste, we can offer tailored alternative solutions to its disposal. Such items as mixed post-consumer packaging, industrial food wraps and agricultural films can be handled to increase income and reduce disposal costs.”
