Exclusive Samsung Rotary Compressor Deal Extends Cooling System Capability

Listen to this article

Technotrans will now be able to offer another option for bespoke cooling systems. Its wholly owned subsidiary Termotek, which has exclusively established the 24V Aspen mini-compressor on the market, has now signed a deal to use the new miniature rotary compressor from Samsung as well.

The Samsung compressor minimises space requirements (it is about the size of a 250ml drinks can)  and offers power of up to 500W and smooth operation across a range of operations. Its low vibration set up makes the device suitable for a number of sensitive work environments.

It is ideal for mobile applications as well as laboratory, medical, laser cooling and refrigerator applications.

Peter Hirsch, managing director of Termotek, says that the mini-compressor is becoming an alternative to classic Peltier cooling systems which reach their performance limit at high ambient temperatures.

As an exclusive distributor of the American company Aspen, Termotek/technotrans has successfully established a 24 V mini-compressor in the market.

This mini-compressor is as powerful as any commercial available piston compressor and yet much lighter, more compact and quiet. It is used in a number of customised applications including laser technology, medical engineering and laboratory equipment.

For many years Termotek has been a renowned manufacturer of liquid cooling systems with a temperature stability of +/- 0.1K. The company, which is based in Baden Baden, offers small active cooling systems and customised solutions for laser applications needing low and medium power.

The company is part of the technotrans group, whose headquarters are in Sassenberg, Germany. The group offers a full range of cooling systems for the laser and machine tool industry as well as in the field of battery cooling applications.
