New Low Fire Hazard Liquid Tight Flexible Conduit for hazardous areas

Listen to this article

Flexicon has launched a new liquid tight flexible conduit, called LTPLFH, which when used with its ATEX and IECEx EX d barrier gland is suitable for hazardous areas.  It has an IP rating of up to IP69k and a low fire hazard rating.
With the barrier gland it can be used for Ex d, Ex e and Ex t applications; in Zone 1 and Zone 2 areas where group A, B or C gases are present and Zones 21 and 22 where explosive dust may be present.

As a low fire hazard product, LTPLFH is highly flame retardant, has low smoke emissions, low toxicity, is halogen, sulphur and phosphorous free and is self extinguishing.
It has a galvanized steel core, which provides a high mechanical strength and a low fire hazard (LFH) polyolefin outer sheath that is oil resistant.  The conduit has also been vibration and shock tested to EN61373 and can withstand temperatures from -25oC to 90oC.
Says Tim Creedon, sales and marketing director for Flexicon:  “With LTPLFH we have nine different liquid tight conduit systems available that can be used in hazardous areas.  In addition, as a UK based manufacturer we can respond more quickly to projects with product and technical help and can accommodate specials more quickly, whether to supply bespoke lengths or perhaps even ready made assemblies.”
LTPLFH also has ‘Authorised for Use’ status on the London Underground Approved Products register and offers compliance with LU standard 1-085 for limited and dispersed applications.
It is available in diameters ranging from 16mm to 32mm, with coil lengths in either 10m and/or 25m.
