Production improved by 10% for Chemical Manufacturer by speeding up drying process
In the ever-competitive and increasingly global chemicals market, companies are always looking for new ways to increase efficiency where ever they can. Here in the UK, one of the largest British manufacturers of chemical products has recently taken action, employing a proactive approach by seeking the expertise of ICS Cool Energy.
Focusing on the production of chemicals for industries including water treatment, food, medical and paper, the international business attracts recognition and acclaim across the UK, Europe and Asia and currently operates over 20 manufacturing plants around the world. Its ethos is always to maximise efficiency by embracing the very latest production technologies and techniques, which is why they decided to work with ICS Cool Energy, one of Europe’s leading specialists in cooling and heating temperature control sales, rental and servicing.
Working with ICS Cool Energy and embracing the very best facilities and equipment, the organisation has been able to increase production by approximately 10% through the creation of a new method that significantly speeds up a drying process.
With the site’s pre-existing production capability equating to around 10 tons per week, its complex processes relied on a series of fans both to ventilate and dry its products whilst in the manufacturing stage. Having conducted a full site analysis and with the requirement to improve drying time placed at the heart of his recommendation, ICS Cool Energy’s regional engineer recommended the use of a 150kW air handling unit and a TAEevo 602 chiller. Featuring four Maneurop fully hermetic compressors and a large 500 litre buffer tank and circulation pump, the fully packaged TAEevo 602 would work in partnership with the air handling unit perfectly, reducing moisture in the air and improving the drying processes, cutting times and generating a tangible rate of enhanced productivity.
With the new drying system installed and commissioned, Sales Director of ICS Cool Energy’s Hire Division Russ Baker comments: “The chemical manufacturer has seen 10% increase in production which is a big first step towards improving the productivity of its site’s processes. With news of the benefits to efficiency making its way around the business, I’m pleased to announce that ICS Cool Energy’s Hire Division has been asked to supply additional hire packages to its other chemical production lines as the company-wide initiative is rolled out.”
