Amarinth’s API 685 Magnetic Drive Pumps Sets the Standard for Safety and Reliability in Critical Process Industries

Listen to this article

Amarinth has received orders worth £8M in the last 12 months for its API 685 magnetic drive pump range. Engineered for true zero-leakage performance in some of the world's most demanding environments, this range continues to demonstrate the industry's trust in Amarinth's commitment to operational safety, long-term reliability and environmental protection.

Full containment of process fluids is a crucial operational concern across oil and gas and chemical processing. Operators are under increasing pressure to comply with tough environmental regulations, maintain strict safety standards and avoid the escalating costs associated with fluid loss.

Fugitive emissions and leaks threaten not only personnel but also the surrounding environment, and can frequently result in expensive downtime and lost product. Consequentially, demand for pumping technologies that provide assured, verifiable containment continues to rise for businesses looking to deliver safe, sustainable and efficient operations.

Amarinth's API 685 magnetic drive pumps incorporate a sealless, hermetically sealed construction, eliminating conventional dynamic mechanical seals – one of the most prevalent points of failure in traditional pump designs. Instead, torque is transmitted through a robust magnetic coupling across a stationary, leak-proof containment shell.

This wholly sealed construction maintains process fluids entirely isolated from the atmosphere, ensuring a reliable long-term solution for zero-leakage applications. The technology significantly improves the safety of the site while helping operators meet the tightening demands for environmental compliance.

The company's commitment to engineering excellence is reflected in the significant orders placed over the last year. Amarinth has secured £8M of orders for horizontal OH2, vertical VS4 and vertical in-line OH3 API 685 pumps.

These will be manufactured in materials ranging from carbon steel to stainless and duplex grades to ensure compatibility with aggressive or hazardous fluids. Many will also be fitted with sophisticated instrumentation, including leak-detection sensors as well as temperature and vibration monitoring systems to support condition-based maintenance.

The selection of Amarinth's pumps for these high-stakes projects, along with the requirement to meet challenging delivery schedules, really showcases the company's ability to offer reliable, technically advanced solutions under considerable time pressures.

The scale of these recent orders demonstrates not only our ability to deliver complex, leak-free magnetic-drive pumps to the most exacting standards, but also our agility in meeting aggressive project schedules that are critical to the success of world- scale industrial initiatives,” said Oliver Brigginshaw, Managing Director of Amarinth. We are delighted to continue our long-standing partnerships with many of the world's leading energy producers. It is a testament to the trust our customers place in our innovative technology and our engineering expertise to ensure the safety and reliability of their most critical operations.”

Each pump in the Amarinth API 685 range is designed and built totally to API 685 3rd Edition specifications. Beyond that, the pumps also meet or exceed all the relevant ATEX and IECEx directives for safe use in potentially explosive atmospheres, giving clients certified assurance that they are suitable for the world's most hazardous and mission-critical applications.

With the demand for zero-leakage pumping solutions on the rise globally, Amarinth has continued to cement its status as a leading manufacturer for operators seeking reliable, efficient and compliant technology in high-risk process environments.
