The word engineer is derived from Latin and literally means 'to create'. That is exactly what engineering is about, we create technology and solutions to custom situations and specific needs. This is why my professional goal is to use my chemical engineering background in an ever-changing industrial environment. With carbon footprint and energy efficiency becoming increasingly important, I want to contribute to sustainable solutions. I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty nor going into detailed analysis of raw data which might scare others into superficial solutions and taking the easy way out. At the end of my career, I want to look back and see I've made a difference, on whatever level that might be. I want to make decisions based on safety, sustainability and environmental consequences. As an engineer, more than economic results, that's what will make me proud.
