Ultra-quiet compressors provide clean, dry air for industrial applications

Listen to this article

In a modern manufacturing environment equipped with sophisticated processing machinery and the latest analytical instrumentation, it is easy to take compressed air for granted. Provided the compressor and ancillary equipment is in good condition and well maintained this is understandable. However, equipment that is old, poorly maintained or both, does present the very real concern that poor quality air will contaminate manufacturing processes.

To avoid these problems the JUN-AIR range of ultra-quiet compressors from the Gast Group includes the higher-output OF1200 that provide clean, dry air for industrial applications. Filters and dryers are also available to remove particles, oil, water, oil odour and vapour, ensuring that the air is of the highest quality.
With outputs up to 260 l/min at 8 bar, the OF range is ideal for point-of-use applications in the process industry where clean and dry air is required, or for applications where noise or the storage of potentially hazardous gas cylinders in the workplace could create health and safety issues.
Like all JUN-AIR oil-free compressors the OF1200 range is vibration-free and extremely quiet, operating at just 76dB(A) as free standing units. When housed in optional silent-running cabinets the noise level is reduced to as low as 55dB(A).
The range features the same unique cooling system, wear-resisting piston rings and proven manufacturing technology as the OF300 and is designed for 100% reliability in continuous operation. Units are constructed with fewer moving parts in order to reduce wear and provide maximum reliability, minimum maintenance and a long working life and receivers are internally coated to guarantee an air supply that is in optimum condition.
This unrivalled combination of low noise levels, reliability, long life and low maintenance, makes JUN-AIR oil-free compressors ideal for installations such as pneumatics, instrumentation, machine building, food manufacture, materials handling, printing, packaging and construction, and for applications as diverse as gas generation, automated sampling and sorting, door opening operations and clean rooms.
